I can't say much about
this radio except it's my wife's favourite. It works OK and has
two loudspeakers although made before stereo radio became the
norm. I haven't opened it up to examine its innards because it
was always being used or I didn't have the inclination. Its got
a magic eye which I think was a marvellous invention although
most of those still extant have faded from their original rich
green colour. I recall they were used, not so much for tuning,
but for deciding on the best orientation of your long-wire aerial.
With strong AGC you couldn't easily tell how relatively well
your radio performed when fiddling with the aerial. With the
magic eye you could even get the green bits to overlap with really
strong signals from really long bits of wire.
Its just OK for Classic FM,
tuning 88-100MHz. |
